How a kid can protect his dental health

Protective Gear in Sports: If they're into sports, especially contact sports, wearing a mouthguard is crucial. This protects their teeth from potential impact and injury.  Avoid Chewing Hard Objects: Discourage habits like biting on pencils, pens, or hard candies. These can damage teeth or even cause them to crack or chip.   The Navasota Dental, Tx  that is conveniently located near 413 N Lsalle St, Navasota, is the  best  option available and   available    for any type of  Dental   Care near you. Regular Dental Checkups: Schedule routine visits to the dentist. Regular checkups help catch any issues early and prevent potential problems. Fluoride Use: Ensure they get enough fluoride either through toothpaste or professional fluoride treatments. Fluoride strengthens teeth and helps prevent decay. Avoid Nail Biting and Chewing on Objects: Discourage your child from biting their nails or chewing on pens and pencils, as this can damage teeth. Limit Sippy Cup Use: Avoid prolonged use

Sleep Dentistry

Sleep Dentistry is dentistry carried out while the patient is under some form of sedation to minimise any anxiety or stress one may feel. It can be carried out for any patient, but the level and setting are dependent on the medical history and general fitness of the patient, as well as the type of dental treatment being administered. Sleep Dentistry is always tailored to be as safe as possible for the patient, whether it be in the dental surgery or in a day-procedure hospital setting. The Navasota Dental, Tx that is conveniently located near 413 N Lsalle St, Navasota, is the  low cost dental office by me.

What types of Sleep (Sedation) Dentistry are there?

Inhaled Minimal Sedation

We use methoxyflurane otherwise known as Penthorx or ‘The Green Whistle’. Penthrox is commonly used in ambulances or on the sports field. In dentistry, it is used for pain relief and to decrease anxiety levels making dental procedures more relaxed and comfortable for the patient.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation can range from the minimal to the moderate, depending on the total dose given. For minimal sedation, patients ingest a pill or solution about an hour before the procedure. This sedation will make you drowsy though awake. A larger dose may be given to produce moderate sedation. Some patients become groggy enough from moderate oral sedation to actually fall asleep during the procedure, though they are usually able to be awakened with a gentle shake.

IV Sedation

IV Sedation includes the receiving of the sedative drug through a vein to ensure quicker effects. This method of sedation allows the dental sedationist to continually adjust the level of sedation as necessary.

Deep Sedation and General Anaesthesia

Deep sedation and general anaesthesia will make you either almost or totally unconscious (deeply asleep) during the procedure. While under the effects of general anaesthesia you cannot easily be awakened until the effects wear off or are reversed with medication. This form of sedation can only be carried out safely in a hospital setting.
